Nana and Grandpa come to visit!

Nana and Grandpa Salerno came to SJ for a visit this week. We had such a great time and we ran them ragged all around Cali! We went wine tasting at Ridge Winery- see pics- and we were able to see San Fran from the top of the mountain in Cupertino! It was beautiful to see the entire Bay and miles beyond.
We went to Menlo Park- to see the new house, to the Japenese Friendship Garden in SJ, the Museum of Modern Art, and lastly to San Francisco. Nana had wanted to ride the trolly 35 years ago- when they were on Vacation in SF- but did not have the chance then- so we HAD to get her on the cable car for sure! She loved every minute of it- even hanging off the front on the way back. We went down to Fisherman's Warf and back to Union Square on the trolly.
It was so great to see them and Linden loved being with her Nana again. She slept for almost the entire day, after they left!

Laura runs a 5K

Nana and Grandpa Salerno were in town for the race day- Laura ran an all women's 5K in the east bay- near Fremont. The race course was along the bay with a beautiful view of the entire bay from the hills. She had a late start- but finished faster than she thought she would! She just kept passing, and passing.....
Linden met her at the finish line with Grandpa- she loved all the noise makers and cow bells. Linden will have to join Mommy in the jogging stroller for her next race.

Day at the beach

Nana and Papa's plane arrival to San Jose was delayed by 12 hours- so we decided to take a family trip to the beach- Pescadero Beach is along the coast- between Half Moon Bay and Santa Cruz- along Highway 1. We picked up some sandwiches and hung out- it was a little chilly at about 60 degrees. It was a great trip- Linden likes the seagulls at the ocean.

Linden's 7 month photo

Linden turns 7 months today! She has been soo much fun lately- sitting up unassisted- and using her hands as support. We have been loving her giggles and she "babbles" all day long!

My friend Cat and her little man, Jake went on a hike with Linden and I on Monday- it was BEAUTIFUL outside!!! We had such a fantastic time- it's so pretty out here- still can't get over how pretty it actually is. We love hiking together- and Linden loves the Bjorn- Thanks Uncle Joe!!! Linden actually falls asleep in there!

Laura and Linden

Hey -

Laura is quite the blogger and I give her full credit for keeping friends and family up to date. But clearly there is some male influence needed here... or alternatively, there are not enough pictures of Laura and Linden.

I'll be working on this in my free time (there's a novel concept...) - in the meantime, understand that the reason Linden so often has a smile on her face is that her and Laura are two peas in a pod - a joy for anyone to see - especially me!

Mom's group

We had a great mommy group today at Jen's house- she is due any day! We gave her a diaper cake- see pic! We also celebrated Cat's birthday- which is next week. Linden took a big chunk out of the two Jake's- she loves them! It's so nice to have such great friends for Linden!

Sweet peas!

Linden has started trying REAL food.... Dr. Min recommended that we start her on green vegetables- so sweet peas it is! Linden makes this really funny face when she has them- we don't think she likes peas so much. She's a great eater though- she puts it in her mouth and swallows just like a big girl. We've been really lucky not to have to force feed her yet- she really likes it!

Bruno

These days Bruno is a constant form of entertainment for Linden. She laughs when he runs around the house and when he barks- she cracks herself up. We think they will grow on each other- Bruno doesn't think he's so funny!

Learning to sit

Linden has been learning to sit on her own- but it seems like all the extra chubby rolls keep getting in the way. She seems a little top heavy! Hopefully once she starts walking- she'll shed some pounds!!

farmer's market in los gatos

We headed to the farmer's market this morning for some fresh produce and good eats. Linden decided to take a little nap while we were shopping- we got some beautiful oranges, tomatoes, and pears. We LOVE all the fresh fruits and veggies here- it's such a change to the produce shopping we used to do at Stanley's in Chicago- it's about 100 times fresher! All though the atmosphere at Stanley's is unbeatable!
