Uncle Mike came in on Wednesday and we got to go out for dinner and hang out and he crashed- litterally- at our place for the nite. He called me around 5 pm on Wednesday and said "Hey! I am at Left Bank having a beer!" I said, "do you want to come over and have a beer with us???????" It's such a Salerno thing to do- bar hop while on "vacation". He came over and we went to Nola's in Palo Alto for dinner- thanks Uncle Mike! Linden got some beads.
Then I was hosting "popcicle night" in our neighborhood- at "The Island" ( a circle island down the street). So he got to meet some neighbors and we headed home to finish off two bottles of wine and chat about old times and all things Wisconsin!
It was so lovely to have him here- a peice of home, at our home.

Playdate with Gigi

I have been working pretty much for the past 5 weeks or so- which feels like forever for a "freelancer" and Linden has been saying "gigi's house?" for a while now. So we fit in babyswap since I only worked Wednesday and Thursday this week. It was lovely to see the girls together again. Gigi noticed Lindy-loo's ponytail and she had to have one of her own too! And we had a chance to slide into the pool- watch the video!

Martha Martha Martha

So I have had my eye on this Martha Stewart Chair at Macy's for a while and I've seen it in magazines and I just LOVE it! We're planning on putting it in Linden's "Big Girl Room" once she moves downstairs. It's simply lovely.

Tira painted this portrait of Linden and it's simply stunning. We love that it embodies Linden perfectly! It's actually from a photograph that I took, too! Thank you so very much- it's a beautiful painting and we'll cherish it forever.

Swinging at the Hardware store

Everytime we go to the hardware store Linden likes to sit on this very swing. If the swing wasn't soo ugly, we would have to get it- Linden loves it soo much. For some reason it reminds me of Deliverance or something creepy from the South.....

Linden's New Trike

We got a new pedal trike for Linden- she's learning how to get around on her own now! BIG girl!

Happy Birthday America

We headed downtown Menlo Park for the 4th of July parade and celebration. It was so much fun and we got to be in out first parade! There was a bounce house and face painting- Linden sat so still when she got the stars on her face.
Then we had The Smith's over for an "adult-dinner"- with no kids! I baked the American Flag cake and Linden got to taste the frosting- she LOVED it!

B-joon's Ferrari

Benjamin was showing Linden his cool remote controlled Ferrari and she yanked the antenna off, so Benjamin had to slide it back on- which took about 15 minutes! Linden said, "Soww-ie Bajoon!"- so cute, he could be mad at her!
Oh yeah, and Linden had no pants on- she had spilled a watering-can on her pants, so we just took them off, but them Bajoon was outside so Linden just hung out on the sidewalk with a diaper on!

22 months- How time flies!

TGIF! A long week!

Brett had his 2nd knee surgery this week and he's recovering very well. He had his miniscus repaired and we are hoping to get him back into shape in about 3 months! He misses the running!
Linden loves playing with his crutches and kissing his knee, she says "Daddy, boo-boo, knee"- it's very sweet! Here are some pics- note Brett's cool white leg- to prevent blood clots... Linden was enjoying a "ci-cile" as she says- it's a popcicle!

Linden's Nanny, Ana, gave her some fun pony-tail ties and Linden wanted them all in her hair- she thought it was really funny when we showed her her hair in the mirror! It was cute to see her reaction.

I bought Linden some organic strawberry milk for the picnic- she LOVED it! Drank it down and licked her lips!

We headed over to the beach at Half Moon Bay and ended up in Brett's favorite park in Woodside. We had a picnic and played with the ball and collected things in our pail. It was a fun day and Brett enjoyed himself!

Her T-shirt move

Linden has this funny thing she does if her shirt is too big- she likes to pull it over her head and sometimes all the way thru- she loves laughing while she does it. That's what I get for buying a 3T! Today she was doing it while we had a snack in her high chair.
As I am writing this Linden is sitting on the potty trying to go poo-poo! Brett has her trained pretty well at night- last week she finally poo-pooed in the potty! We were so excited, but it was night-time so we did not want to get too excited, since it was bedtime. We were like, "good job and goodnite!"

Pool Party/ Baby Shower

We had our regular Thursday playgroup that was a surprise shower for Stacey Jones- she's having her 3rd- and it's finally a girl! We had a pool party for the kids and wine and cake for the Moms- such a fab time! Linden got to see Gigi- she had not seen her all week. It was soo cute when they found eachother in the mist of pool tys and about 15 other kids running around!

Gigi's Birthday playgroup

We went over to Gigi's for playgroup on Thursday to celebrate her big 2 birthday! The kids had fun on the trapoline and the cupcakes were fab!

Linden was a little cautious at first, but it was fun running thru the backyard with Daddy!

applesauce is messy!

I gave Linden a cup of applesauce today and you would have thought it was chocolate- she loved it. What she got in her mouth and not all over our patio table and her shirt. She had to loose the shirt when she was done- way too messy!
