Bruno the Test Dog

With Bruno weighing in less than 8 pounds himself- he’s the perfect newborn size for us to test out the new gifts we have received. As you can see Bruno has been the brunt of all baby products- whenever we open something new we say, “let’s see if Bruno like it!” He actually enjoyed the Baby Bjorn- thanks Uncle Joe! He’s not sure about the “mommy Bear” that sounds like when the baby is in the womb- it creeps him out and he runs away! He has fallen in love with the Boppy Pillow- it’s a lot like his own doggie bed and it fits him perfectly. Poor guy is going to have a rude awakening when he realizes that these gadgets are not for him!

Do you know your way to San Jose?

We finally are together again, Brett left on Sunday, July 9th and Laura, Bruno and baby Hammie arrived the following Sunday. Bruno was sedated for the 4 and a half hour flight, but made it out okay! He loves the California heat and cools off his belly on the hardwood floor whenever he gets a chance! He's also having fun unpacking all the baby toys- he thinks they make really great doggie toys too!
The house is fantastic, we really are enjoying finding our way around the neighborhood. We went for a walk on the Los Gatos Trail yesterday and are excited to explore more everyday. Please note that our guest bedroom is up and running- so come visit!! We'll always have a place for all of you! We are off to Saratoga tonight to see what the mountain scene has to offer. We met our wonderful next door neighbor who offered to watch Bruno anytime, and she's looking forward to babysitting!! So, it seems like we are a hit!
After all the shuffling to get here, we are excited to start a new chapter in our lives. We had a Dr's appointment today, and she said we are on track to deliver on time and the baby looks healthy- almost 5 lbs! We are in the process of getting the nursery together and making a trip to Babies R' Us to get the necessities we still need! Oh how Brett loves Babies R'Us!

bye bye windy city

Wow- we took our last weekend in Chicago together to do some of the things we loved to do in the Windy City. We went to Marshall Field's on State Street- where we met! Then scooted over to Millennium Park for some pictures by "the bean". We have such wonderful memories of the city and we'll miss it dearly.
Some of us got together for brunch at Bin Wine Cafe the day Brett was leaving for CA and had such a nice time. The time with friends was so special to us and we were able to reflect on how lucky we are to have such amazing friends in Chicago! Then we could not miss the final game of the world cup- Italy V. France-at a local bar. Brett was rooting for France and Laura for Italy; of course. VIVA ITALIA!
We can't wait to visit Chicago again, and we look forward to seeing everyone soon!
